Restaurant Review: Red Rock
(this post was previously written in April 2003)
Located on Sheppard East of Hwy 404 and west of Victoria Park Ave. This restaurant is situated beside the Time Hortons on Sheppard. the atmosphere in this restaurant is alright, it's a bar/restaurant. My friend said the place reminded her of those restaurants you see next to the hotels on side of highways (don't ask how she knows).
Anyways, the food selection was alright, but wasn't too spectacular. I had a Penne with tomato sauce with a cajun chicken breast on top. It was alright, nothing spectacular again, but tasty. My friend had the smoke salmon on a bed of linguine. Only thing, it wasn't smoke salmon, it was a chunk of salmon. That's not bad of course, but it wasn't smoked salmon is all. The prices are decent, very average, in the $10.99-$25.99 range. Downfall is there is no free bread, only sides that you can go with pasta is garlic brad and ceasar salad, which cost $1.99 each.
Atmosphere was alright, big screen tv you can watch the game on. they have a smoking room which was good, I did not want to smell smoke. But the pool table and some other games are located in there, which is good they have them, not so good it's in there.
All in all, I'd give it only a 2.0/5. It was not a bad place, just nothing really stuck out. If you want safe, I'd say it's a safe eat, probably can't go wrong, just not many lasting moments.
