Turtle Jacks - 980 Southdown Road

This restaurant is located at the corner of Southdown (is Erin MIlls Pkwy south of QEW) and Lakeshore. There are more branches I think, but no idea where. This restaurant is like a Grill House, so combined bar and restaurant.

Service - I was okay with it at the beginning, but then it got worse. THe waiter didn't even come to take our order, was pretty pissed cause I was hungry. Then the manager sees my discontent and finally asks if we had our order taken. And then he tries to make sure we're happy the rest of the night. Anyways, doesn't make up. 0.4/1.0

Environment - This was a very casual restaurant, more like Casey's and Kelsey's I'd say. Was very country like, wood all around. I saw in the bar with two lcd screens and two other tvs, so it was comfortable. But even though it was set as a comfortbale place, somehow I felt uncomfortable. 0.55/1.0

Food

Complimentary Bread - This was very good, hot, a bit greasy, and toasty. I thought it was good bread, had four of the size portions.

Appetizer - Coconut Shrimp, $ - I usually never order appetizers, but this time I'd try something new. The shrimp were small, but it was okay. This was actually a pretty good appetizer, the cocunut was very distinct, slightly more batter then I want but it did not overshadow the shrimp. The dipping sauce was nice, slightly spicy, so I enjoyed this appetizer.

Entree - Side Ribs, $ - This thing was humungous. I thought it'd be just the six racks, but there was some extra stuff as well. Anyways, I thought this was pretty good taste, kind of like the jack Daniels Ribs I've had at Kelsey's. Anyways, the meat fell of the bone. I'd recommend this dish.

Entree - Steak, $ - My mom had this, was a very small steak, but for the price was good. Steak was not too cooked that it was rough, was tender and I enjoyed eating some of it as well. Not much else to say, but I can say that it does not compare to steakhouses. It really does not even compare to Canyon Creek, so don't bother with this steak unless you want steak, and don't want much of it, cause it is small. But not bad for it's price.

Side Dishes - Ceasar Salad, Veggies, Red Skin Potatoes with a sweet sauce, and coleslaw - There is nothing wrong with these, and that's pretty much all to say. The red potatoes was nice, different from French Fries. So order them.

Overall - Food - I did not expect much going in, and I think I got more than expected. Was decent, price wasn't overly cheap, but it was extraordinary expensive. However, if you are on a budget, I'd suggest something else because it isn't cheap enough with respect to the taste to warrant a "going out meal".0.60/1.0

Presentation - Well how much presentation is there at Kelsey's and Casey's. It's not a place that prides on presentation, so thus I was not impressed, although I did not expect it. 0.5/1.0

Price - Average price, $20, so not really cheap. I'd suggest eating elsewhere unless you just want to try it. It's not like more expensive than I thought, just wasn't a great deal.0.55/1.0

Overall - I don't think I'd go back intentionally. If I had nothing else to eat, I'd be willing to go back. Is a good place to just hang out, drinks, maybe some appetizers. So don't go out of your way, although I'm sure no one will becuase everyone refuses to go to Missisauga, and especially was far south as where I live. 2.6/1.0
