Scaccia

This restaurant is located inside the Manulife Centre. It is located in the basement, below Bay Street Diner. It is an Italian restaurant that does a lot of takeout as well.

This place tries to make itself as a very high class restaurant, as seen by the decoration. It looks decorated with dim lighting, classic walls, but the spacing between the tables is small, unlike high class restaurants.

So this is what I had:

Linguine Salmone - This is a pasta dish that has chunks of salmon mixed in a creamy sauce, with wine in it. However the wine was like non-existent in taste unfortunately, however it's not such a big problem. The pasta and sauce was good, nothing spectacular. But I think it's hard to make pasta spectacular, however the sauce can be make well. The Salmon however was excellent, it was fried beforehand, so it did not break which I expected. So I liked it, the pasta tasted good. I'd recommend it if you order it.

Lasagna - This portion looked kinda of small actually. And from how it tasted, I expected more. So nothing special, but I hear the takeout was a little better.

Seafood Misto - An appetizer dish, that had a wide selection of seafood. It tasted good actually, the sauce was light, and it had a slight touch to make the seafood taste good.

Scaccia - This is supposed to something like a mix between a sandwich and pizza. It is wrapped like a sandwich, has some meat usually inside with cheese, and the outside is pizza crust taste. But for sitting down, would not order it, it's more expensive sitting down than takeout, much more expensive.

Service - It was alright, wasn't great, but I think it had to do a little withthe fact we were there near close. It's ok.

I would say this place has it's up and down, nothing really special. I would give it a rating of 2.9/5.0.
